SCR Office Holders Past & Present

For many years the SCR operated a policy of alternating (*) Professorial (or High Grade Administrative) and (#) non-Professorial level staff as holders of the Chair, which was for one year only, and seen as an accolade rather than a burden. It became obvious as times changed that this was no longer necessarily how recipients saw the offer, and in 1999/2000 the roles were split - an Honorary President, holding office for a single year, and now alternating between (#) staff/retired staff members of whatever grade and (*) lay members of Council; and a Committee Chair, to be more of a working officer role, ideally held for at least two or three years at a time.
